Situated approximately 6.5km south of Singapore, St John's Island (previously known as Pulau Sekijang Bendara) makes an idyllic getaway to get a glorious tan, have a picnic on the sandy beach, explore off-beaten treks around the island or simply laze away by the lagoon.

Formerly known as 'Pulau Sakijang Bendera', St John's Island, is a former penal settlement which is now a serene getaway for the sun lover. With lagoons, beaches picnic grounds, soccer fields, barbeque pits and camping grounds, it is a great place to relax, swim and suntan. The holiday bungalows have very low rental rates and amenities include a refrigerator, cooking facilities and utensils. Each bungalow can accomodate 10 persons. Compared to the beaches on mainland Singapore, the beach here is quite clean. A cafeteria on the island sells drinks and food, though choices are rather limited. Shower facilities are available at the public toilets.

Its location is approximately 1 km south from the southern most part of Sentosa.

Take a ferry from the Sentosa Ferry Terminal. Admission to the island, which includes the ferry charges, is S$9 for adults and S$6 for children. Duration of the ride is 45 minutes each way. The ferries stop at Kusu Island as well. During the annual Kusu Island Pilgrimage, the ferry service to St John's Island will be suspended.
