Proposal - Introduction

There are some islands in Singapore that are not put to good use. We want to find out more about these islands and suggest what can be done to put these islands to good use. One example is Sentosa which was known as Pulau Belakang Mati in the past. After developing it, it was turned into Sentosa which is now a well-known tourist attraction in Singapore. We need to put these islands to good use because Singapore is geographically small in size and we do not have enough land. Some islands are being abandoned or not developed yet.

A survey was done to ask the interviewees what they would like to see these islands developed into. The team also have some proposals and would like to share it here.

We conducted surveys of 120 people in Singapore to know their opinions and suggestions.

The result is as followed:

  • Fun Island 65%
  • Do nothing 16.6%
  • Nature World 9.2%
  • Animal Escape 9.2%

Proposal - Proposal By Team

We would like to suggest to the government that those islands that are not put to good use can be used for the following:

  • Fun Islands - A place where people can enjoy themselves in a dream world and amusement park as amusement park is commonly visited by many people. This may attract tourist if the government is willing to include more exciting game such as roller-coaster and etc¡­ The main thing is that there is safety precautions taken by the authorities to ensure that no one is hurt as a safe place will attract more place. The safer it is, the more people will visit it. A dreamland or ghostly hunts can be included in the Fun Island to make it more interesting. They should also include varieties of games in that area.
  • Night life - We can follow Hong Kong as they have a beautiful night life paradise at there. Hong Kong is well-known to be a shopping paradise. Maybe, they can built a "Disney Night Park" there rather than Sentosa. A night life may include dinner place and seafood dinner on the boat. The night life may attract other investors to Singapore and they may wish to invest if the proposal is good. This will bring in revenue for Singapore and thus making Singapore a prosperous country.
  • Nature islands - To preserve the original concept of the island as Singapore is a globally industrialized country. As Singapore is becoming more industrialized, a nature world will allow people to have a different feeling. We should also preserve the wildlife and nature as it will remind people that Singapore is once an island that is full of vegetation and forest and we have wildlife and nature reserve too. This may bring in extra revenue for Singapore as tourist may want to visit wildlife and nature reserve and they may choose Singapore because Singapore is a safer country. It is the top 10 safest countries in the whole wide world.
