In the U.S., kids use many different forms of transportation
to get to school. Kids can:
walk, get a ride from a friend or parents, ride their bike, take the bus
(public or school) or take the train. In Oak Park there is an elevated
train called the EL. It has three stops in Oak Park.

Walking
Many kids walk to and from school. If they live within a mile and a half
of the school, they walk because no bus is provided.

Riding Bikes
Some students ride their bikes to school which is an easier way to travel
a long distance in little time. The school has bike racks outside in the
front and on the sides of the school so that students may lock up their
bikes so that they won't get stolen.

Bus
If students live a mile and half or more away, they
are eligible to take the school bus. About 1/4 of the students ride the
bus to school. They can ride a public bus if it is more convenient
for them. The majority of bus kids ride on the school bus. There are
five buses
which pick kids up in different parts of Oak Park.

Driving to School
Lots of kids get rides to school if they live far away, but no bus is
available for them to take. Some students get rides if they have a lot
to carry, or if they are turning in a project.
車
多くの生徒が車に乗せてもらって学校へ来ます。 遠くの方にすんでいて、乗るバスがない生徒です。 たくさんの持ち物があったり、プロジェクトに入っていたりする生徒も、車に乗ってくる場合があります。
Taking the Train to School
In Oak Park there is an elevated train called the El that passes through
the middle of the village. It has three stops in Oak Park. The Greenline
and the Blueline both pass through Oak Park. You can view the routes here:

Look for Oak Park at the Oak Park Ave. stop on the Green line.
