response

The United Nations and the World Health Organization have worked intensively with affected African countries and their respective leaders and determined that a few viable options remain to counter this destructive problem.

  1. Prominent pharmaceuticals could release patents in these African countries and work as the sole distributor of drugs in the region.
  2. The World Health Organization (WHO), with extra funds of about twenty million dollars, could initiate an incentives based programme to negotiate with pharmaceutical companies.
  3. Significantly lower prices of patented products.
