My name is Kristina. I was 20 years old when found out I was HIV positive When I heard the news I felt lifeless. I could not excuse myself for letting me get into this situation. The shock lasted a very long time but I got over it finally. Fortunately, I met a person who made me realize that having HIV does not necessarily mean a death sentence. Fortunately, I can afford the medicine and that keeps me well as long as I take them properly. I would not be alive if this person did not help me through this difficult time. If you are in a dark room you can curse the darkness or turn a light on. I decided that I am going to look at turn the light on. I am 24 now and I am still alive. I still dream that one day I will fall in love and have a normal life.

Kristina, Russian Federation.
