My nephew Tom is an AIDS victim. He is 6 years old and both his parents died when he was 4. He has been living with us (his aunt and uncle). To live with AIDS in Trinidad is a curse. Tom used to go to school on his good days. But now the school officials told us to keep him home. The feeling of fear and outrage in Trinidad is beyond belief, all the parents had threatened to withdraw their children from school if Tom continued to attend school. Tom is too ill to attend school and we are unable to offer him any treatment. It is very painful to see him suffer through this. I just hope God will have some mercy on this poor child who did nothing to deserve this fate.
