Cure: Is there a cure for AIDS?

There is currently no cure for AIDS, but there are drugs that can slow down the otherwise rapid progress of the HIV virus, thus slowing down the damage to the immune system. These drugs are not capable of eliminating the HIV virus from the infected individual's body. Scientists are diligently working towards developing a vaccine for HIV.
