navigation : overview
The vertical menu at the left can be used to navigate through the various pages of the site. Simply hover over one of the main sections to bring up the sub-links of that section, then choose one of the links to be taken to the page.
Much of the content on the site is region-specific. The content of the entire "analysis" section, much of the "reality" section, and the quiz in the "interact" section change as the user moves from region to region. Each region has been color-coded for ease of navigation and may be accessed via either the "regions" section on the menu or the matching color-coded clickable flash map at the bottom of the menu on each page.
The site is presented in three formats: English, Spanish, and text-only. The links for the respective homepages are at the top right corner of the screen.

This section contains, as its name suggests, general information about the website and the team that created it. It also includes a comprehensive glossary.
navigation : knowledge
This section contains the background information that can help the user develop a solid foundation on the topic. It is suggested that the user look at this section first if the user is not familiar with the topic. With a good knowledge base, the rest of the information on the site will have more meaning.
navigation: analysis
The information in this section pertains to the impact of the patent issues on each region. Thus, the information changes depending on the region the user is viewing.
navigation: reality
This section contains news relating to HIV/AIDS and patent issues updated daily, interviews on the topic, results of surveys, and a compilation of all randomly displayed quotes and facts pertaining to patent wars. In addition, stories, articles, and opinions submitted by people from various parts of the world are displayed here in their original context, as submitted by the authors.
navigation : regions
Much of the information on the site is presented based on the region in the world it pertains to. The regions, as presented on the site, are as follows: Australia and New Zealand, the Caribbean, East Asia and the Pacific, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa, North America, South and Southeast Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Western Europe . Each region has its own color to facilitate viewing of the website. When within a region, the user can access the region-specific information via the analysis and reality sections on the menu.
navigation: interact
It's one thing to read about a topic, but interactive components add an entirely different web experience. An interactive timeline, quizzes, original entertaining flash games, a colorful gallery are just some aspects of the site's interactive section. Users are also encouraged to submit their own stories, articles or opinions pertaining to the topic. It is worth noting that each region has its own quiz.

Feel free to utilize the tools that we have provided to enhance the overall site experience. The two icons at the top right of the screen, just above the noteworthy box, provide a printer-friendly document for printing and open up the handy notepad in which the user can keep tract of interesting facts that may be difficult to remember without recording.

You need to have JavaScript enabled on your web browser. If JavaScript is disabled on your web browser please follow the steps provided below to enable JavaScript.

- Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
- In the Internet Options dialog box select the Security tab.
- Click the Custom Level... button. The Security Settings dialog box will pop up.
- Under the Scripting category enable Active scripting .
- Click OK twice to close out.

Screen Resolution: At least 800 x 600 with 256 colors
This website is designed to be viewed on a PC with a minimum screen resolution of 800x600 or higher at high color. If you can see our site without scrolling to the right, your monitor is already set to at least 800x600. However, if you can only see about 80% of the page and need to scroll to the right to see the rest, then your resolution is set to 640x480.
To adjust screen resolution on a PC:

After setting your screen resolution to 800x600, you may change it back to its original setting by following the appropriate instructions above but choosing the original setting at the appropriate step.
