Juet Kune Do            Introduction | History | Title | "No Way" | Pure Being | Application

Title
Very often when people talk about Juet Kune Do, they are very much concerned about its title. Actually, the title is not important at all. Itˇ¦s only a symbol for the kind of martial art we study. Juet Kune Do uses all ways and is bound by none, and likewise uses any technique or means which serves its end. Efficiency is anything that scores. For instance, in the film, Fist of Fury. Bruce Lee had a fight with Robert Baker. Robert once looked Bruceˇ¦s neck with his legs so that Bruce was unable to move. The only movable part of his body was his mouth. So, Bruce gave Robert a bite! Really there is no rigid form of special title in Juet Kune Do. All that three is the understanding: If the enemy is cool, stay cooler than him; if the enemy moves, move faster than him; be concerned with the ends, not the means; master your own manipulation of force, donˇ¦t be restricted by your form.

"Juet Kune Do is fitting in with one's opponent, but there is no path, no self, and no goal. Its first concern is about its experience and not its modes of expression."

--Bruce Lee
