What kinds of water can I get at home?

We have traced water to your home. There are three choices for water inside the house.  To follow your own water path, click on the kind of water you have from this list:

  • Town water: supplied by the town, township, or area in which you live.
  • Well water:  a drilled hole on your land from which you get water.
  • Bottled water:  water bought from a water supplier--usually only for drinking.

How does water actually get inside my house?

No matter what kind of water you have, pipes bring the water inside your house.  If you have a cellar, you should see pipes coming through the wall from outside.  These pipes are not big like the one we could stand in at the reservoir.  They are only about 3/4" and made of copper or plastic.  The pipes that go to your kitchen faucet, to your bathroom, and to your laundry room are attached to this pipe.  This is the final link to seeing how water reaches your home or sink.  Want to find out how faucets work?  Click here.

Now that I have it, how can I save water?

Yes, you can save water, too.  We did a lot of research about water and taking care of the Earth's water was in almost everything we read.  We found out that everyone on the Earth does not have the same amount or quality of water that we have.  We thought that countries like Africa might have problems because they have a lot of drought.  What we didn't know was that some people in the United States are having problems, too.  Check out our conservation page to learn how to save water and be an Aqua Duck, too!  Check out our Water Problems page--it's an eye-opener!
