He graduated from High School in 1972.  He recived a bachelor of science degree in electronics and computer engineering from the University of Tel Aviv, Israel, in 1987.

Payload specialist

Military Service / Civilian

Colonel, Israel Air Force.

Space Training / Specialty

Over 3,000 flight hours on the A-4, Mirage 3-C , and F-4. Also he did over 1,000 flight hours on the F-16.

 

Contribution to Space Travel

First space explorer for Israel

Space Missions

STS-107 Columbia  - The 16-day flight was a dedicated science and research mission.

He conducted around 80 experiments..

Outside Activities

He liked to go snow skiing and liked to play squash.

Interesting Fact(s)

Posthumously awarded the Congressional Space Medal of Honor, the NASA Space Flight Medal, and the Distinguished Public Service Medal

Status

Deceased : February 1, 2003 when the Columbia perished during reentry.
