But there are many other places in the world that have rich deposits and mine phosphate. North America has rich phosphate deposits. Most of them are found in the United States. .  The United States is the world's largest producer of phosphate rock. USA produces  more than 30 % of  world's phosphate. Florida and North Carolina produce the largest amounts. There are mines in Utah and Idaho as well.
