During world War II the British Government started food rationing, to be certain that every war fighter was full and well fed. To start with, only a few foods were rationed, Later on more and more foods were rationed.

Younger children and mothers got more food to eat so they grew taller and got heavier.

Everybody got new eating habits. People started eating less meat, fat, eggs, and sugar than before. People that ate like that before the war started eating more heathy. After a while they started to eat brown bread and white bread, as you didn’t see on the shelf any more. Rations stopped after the war ended in 1945.
