Number on Grandfather's Arm

The story was about Jews being beat and killed. That was by Hitler. Germany people put numbers on the Jews arms and considered Jews numbers instead of people. The grandfather told this story to his niece because she saw the number on his arm wile they washed dishes.

Shin's Tricycle

Shin had always wanted a tricycle but the factories stopped making them because of world war 2. His uncle gave him a tricycle before he went to war. The United States dropped the little boy atom bomb on Hiroshima Japan. Many people died but Shin stayed alive for a short tome after the bomb dropping.

Don’t You Know There’s a War On?

This book is about a kid who’s brother and father go off to fight in World War II. When the boy asks to do some of the things that he used to do or buy things he used to everybody says to him, “Don’t you know there’s a war on?” He started to recycle things and helped plant a victory garden. Eventually the war ended and his father and brother came home.

Mercedes and the Chocolate Pilot

Life was grim in 1948 West Berlin, Germany. In an effort to seize control of the region and put it under communist rule, Josef Stalin blockaded the roads, rail roads and canal routs coming out of Berlin to cut off West Berliners from all food, clothing, heat and electricity. Without outside help, over 2.2 million people would die. As one of the American Pilots participating in the air flight mission, L.T Gail S. Halvorson dropped candy to the children in Berlin.
This is a true story of a seven- year-old girl named Mercedes who lived in West Berlin during the Airlift of the American who came to be known as the chocolate pilot.
Passage to Freedom

In this story, the Nazis came to Lithuania and the people all gathered around the house of a Japanese consul. They had come to Hiroki’s father brought in five men. They all spoke Russian. That night Hiroki’s father heard depressing stories. He wrote a note to Japan, and asked if the Jews could go there. The Japanese people wrote back and said, NO. He wrote another note and the answer was again, NO. So, he just let them go anyway.
Let the Celebration Begin

Let the Celebration begin is about lots of young boys and girls that are in a camp during the war so they are safe. The girls that are a little bit older are making toys for the young boys and girls for when the soldiers coma to take them to n even more safe place. You can see for yourself what they are making the toys what they are making the toys out of. I kind of liked this book and I hope if and when you do read it that you will like it.
Star of fear Star of hope

This book is about two children . It is ones birthday and her best friend ever came to sleep over and they heard voices out in the hall. Her parents were not home but when they did get home they told them all about it. Her best friend went home after that moment and the birthday girl said that they were not friends anymore. To find out the rest why don’t you read the book yourself. I kind of liked this book but you can say for yourself.
