War came to Pearl Harbor, Hawaii at 7:55 a.m. on a silent Sunday morning December 7, 1941.

A lot of ships where placed at Pearl Harbor that day. There were about 200 ships. The Japanese aircraft carriers stopped their ships about 230 miles from the ships in pearl Harbor. The first 180 Bombers started the war. One hundred seventy more Japanese aircrafts followed for a second attack on the fleet of ships.

The whole attack lasted about one hour and fifty minutes. The Japanese attack on America killed about 2,400 Americans and wounded another 1,200.

Japan underestimated America. They thought that we would like to talk and not fight, but we were going to fight. The United States President recruited a team to fight Japan.

The bombing of Pearl Harbor had a lot of people scared, confused, and just plain stunned. Everybody was running around all over the yards and roads. All the military people could not get through on the roads until, some people came on the radio. They told them not to panic and to stay off the roads. The radio broadcast really helped and finally the military could get through. After a few days things calmed down, but people were still afraid that the Japanese might attack again. However, they never did, but peoples lives were changed forever.
