many repairs were made to the station to return it to fully operational condition, by the crew, by June 4. Experiments in solar astronomy, Earth resources and medical studies were conducted. It performed 404 orbits and 392 experiment hours. 3 EVAs.

SKYLAB 3

additional station maintenance was performed by the crew. Various scientific and medical experiments performed. Completed 858 orbits. 1,081 experiment hours. 3 EVAs

Skylab 4

84 days

Numerous experiments were conducted. Observations of Comet Kohoutek were also made. 1,214 orbits. 4 EVAs.

The Skylab missions obtained vast amounts of scientific data, and they demonstrated to the public that people could live and work productively in space for months at a time.

In 1977, Skylab was destablized by solar activity and the station began to lose altitude. The station finally impacted earth on July 11th 1979 . The debris dispersion area stretched from the Southeastern Indian Ocean across a sparsely populated section of Western Australia.
