Newton's Laws

Here we study the various laws put forth by Sir Isaac Newton.

Sir Isaac Newton made his discoveries based on observations of the day to day activities.

If he put forth the Universal law of gravitation by an apple falling on his head, he put forth three laws of motion by observing the various kinds of motion around him.

So we find that his laws can be applied to everything we do, everyday.

Newton 's universal law of gravitation explains the force of attraction existing between any two bodies in the universe, however big or small they may be.

Newton 's laws of motion take into account, the various states of motion like rest, uniform motion and accelerated motion and explain the effect of balanced and unbalanced forces on these states.

These laws are very practical in the sense that they answer day-to-day questions like, “Why do we jolt forward when the brakes of a car are hit?”

Let us now have a look at these laws:

Universal law of gravitation

Newton 's first law of motion

Newton 's second law of motion

Newton 's third law of motion
