Acceleration due to Gravity

Acceleration due to gravity

The acceleration produced in the body on account of the force of gravity is called acceleration due to gravity. It is denoted by ‘g'. at a given place , the value of acceleration due to gravity is the same for all bodies irrespective of their masses. However , it differs from place to place on the surface of earth. It also varies with altitude and depth.

The force with which a body is attracted towards the earth gives the weight of the body.
