All human societies have medical beliefs relating to birth, death, disease and cures. As societies developed in Europe and Asia belief systems were replaced with a different natural system. The Greeks developed a medicine system where treatment was to restore the balance within the body.

Some medicines work right on the spot like ointments. Ointment is helpful when you have a cut on you and your bleeding, but first you have to put a clean cloth right on the spot of the cut and wait till it stops bleeding. Then you can put the ointment on a bandage and put the bandage on yourself. The ointment should help heal it quickly, stop the pain and prevent infection.

Doctors and scientists have to prescribe some medicine's before patients can use them. Scientist have to test medicine for substances that are safe.
