Back To The Bridge

Creating this website has been an incredible experience for all of us. Although we all go to the same school, making the Giver site served as an excellent way for the six of us and our two great coaches to get together as a group and work on a project. The activity showed us that working as a group can be helpful and sometimes difficult, but we accomplished our goals thoroughly and as a team. The idea of working as a team entailed an interesting work style of not giving out jobs. Each team member drew pictures, wrote responses and reports, made links, and contributed to all of the other aspects of making a site. Instead of only getting the opportunity to do one thing, each of us got to get a taste of each job.
Our group met every Friday afternoon in one of our school's computer labs. At the beginning, meetings were shorter because we were working on content and this could be done at home. Meetings averaged one to one and a half hours. As we began to work on the more technical aspect of the site, they usually lasted 2+ hours. In addition, as the deadline drew near, we met a couple of times over the weekend.
Working on this website has taught all of us lifelong lessons about teamwork, responsibility, and of course, myths.
