  2. Yes/No Questions (four questions)

Survey Sample

This survey used a convenience sample. Four groups of people completed the survey in December 2003.

  1. 60 of the survey participants were seventh-graders from a school in southern Ohio

  2. 3 of the participants were adults from southern Ohio

  3. 10 were children from Bangladesh

  4. 11 were adults from Bangladesh

Though our ThinkQuest group lives in the United States, we were able to collect results from Bangladesh because a member’s relative was on a trip there. This relative administered the survey to her friends and relatives and then gave our team the results.

Data Analysis

Survey responses were entered into an Excel workbook document. There, several operations were run on the raw data. Percentages for question choices were found, as well as averages for selected questions. Common response patterns were also examined. See our findings for more information.
