Loose Snow Avalanches

The loose snow avalanche, usually occurs in the spring on the surface when wet snow or new snow, it is also sometimes called sluff. It usually starts at one point and spreads as it moves. The sluff  sometimes gathers and pulls enough snow to deeply bury a person, and carry them with it. The main danger to skiers, snowboarders, snowshoers, and other winter recreationists.
