Mission Summary

The Apollo 13 was launched on April 13.The Apollo 13 mission was aborted when an oxygen tank exploded about halfway between the Earth and the Moon. The Astronauts, Jim Lovell, Fred Haise, and John Swigert had to shut down the Command Module, Odyssey, so they had to move into the Lunar Module, Aquarius. NASA had to deal with a lot of problems, including figuring out how to remove the Carbon Dioxide from the Space Craft, and Devising there engines to correct the trajectory. One time they even saw oxygen pouring out of the spaceship. They had to splash down in the pacific to be safe. None of the astronauts died. Now the Apollo 13 is known as the successful failure
