How It Works
The Alzheimer’s VMD uses many technologies in order for it to function properly. Our product; the VMD (Visual Monitoring Device); is used for a caregiver to monitor over their patient without actually being with them. It also has emergency buttons and wander alert incase something wrong happens. If there is a fire or burglary the VMD will be synced to the smoke alarm and security alarm systems. This way you will here a loud beep and an emergency screen on the small LCD screen. Then you would be able to use the emergency buttons in order to contact emergency services.
There will also be trip alarms placed by restricted areas of the home (such as the kitchen), and to all the exits in the home. If the patient (person being monitored) goes over these areas the wander alert button will beep and flash. Cameras will be placed in corners of rooms and caregivers will be able to monitor the patient through a small LCD screen on the watch. There will also be a switch on the watch to switch to different cameras around the house. In case of the patient wandering outside of the house, GPS coordinates will be given on the LCD screen which may given to the police in order to track them down.
