The West Nile Virus

The West Nile Virus is one of several mosquito-borne viruses in the United States that can infect and kill a lot of people and animals. The virus has been spreading all over the United States from mosquitoes to birds, horses and people. The mosquito bites a human or a bird and it spreads the disease. If you are infected by the disease some symptoms would be getting a fever and/or a headache. It is possible to get muscle weakness and neck stiffness. The West Nile Virus is a very deadly disease so if you have alot of mosquitoes in your community then wear insect repellent or long-sleeved shirts and pants. If you spot a dead bird in your community then contact your local health department. West Nile Virus cannot spread by physical contact with another person.
