Basic rules: You can only have two teams in competition. The tracks should be 1,200 – 1,300 meters. 1,200 meters should be sloping down hill. The last hundred meters should have uphill stretches, must have bends.

Deciding on winner: the combined weights of sled and team are limited to about 827 pounds for the two-man and about 1,388 pounds for the four-man sled. A race is made up of four runs and results are based on all times.

Info facts: The name bobsledding came from early racers bobbing their heads back and forth. The frame is made of metal and the shell of fiberglass. There are two sizes, two-man and four-man. It was developed in Switzerland.
