The Bermuda Triangle

   What is it?

The Bermuda Triangle, also know as the Devil's Triangle, has a reputation for the disappearances of ships, airliners and naval destroyers. It is one of the biggest mysteries of our time- that isn't really a mystery.

     Where is it?

Some people believe that it is some sort of a square (it doesn't touch anything), though most people believe that the Bermuda triangle touches Miami, Puerto Rico, then Bermuda. Some people believe that it is so huge, it touches Azores and New York.

What has happened around the Bermuda Triangle?

One of the most popular disappearances at the Bermuda triangle is Flight 19. The tale of Flight 19 starts on December 5th, 1945. The flight was composed of all students except for the Commander, Lt. Charles Taylor. The mission called for Taylor and his group of 13 men to fly due east 56 miles to conduct practice bombing runs. The flight plan called for them to fly an additional 67 miles east, then turn north for 73 miles and finally straight back to base, a distance of 120 miles. This course would take them on a triangular path over the sea. He was an experienced pilot, but hadn't spent a lot of time flying east toward the Bahamas which was where he was going on that day. For some reason Taylor apparently thought the flight had started out in the wrong direction and had headed south toward the  Florida Keys, instead of east. He was urged to turn control of the flight over to one of his students, but apparently he didn't. From the few words that did get through it was apparent Taylor was still flying north and east, the wrong directions.

    In Conclusion...

There are people who ignore scientific evidence, and believe anything they hear. There are also people who believe in scientific evidence, and claim there was no mystery at all. They believe that all of the disappearances have natural causes and are no more frequent then probability would suggest. There is no doubt that there are a few truly mysterious cases. But when so many "mysterious" disappearances have logical explanations, the biggest mystery is how the Bermuda Triangle mystery even started!
