The Abominable Snowman, a Himalayan creature with many theories as to what or who he is. This is a legend that goes back for many years.
Who is he really?
This creature has many names but the most well known is the Abominable Snowman. You may have come to know him as Yeti, The Great Bear, or Raksha (Sanskrit for demon) but do not get him confused with Bigfoot or Sasquatch. That is another beast that is under completely different studies for what he actually is. Why is the word "snowman" in his name? The Himalayas, the biggest mountain range in the world, is extremely cold with snow and ice all around. It is hard to believe that this creature might be partly human, if it can survive such a cold, harsh climate. See a picture of this creature at the bottom of the page!
He's big, but how big?
People that have claimed to have seen him, say that he is 7 to 10 feet tall, feet twice the size of an average humans (see picture) with a noticeably disagreeable aroma. He is a very large creature, not human but walking upright, and seems to have the face of a gorilla. People have found footprints and have compared it to some other large creatures. See picture diagram below.
How old is he?
People have claimed to see The Abominable Snowman for a very long time, as far back as 1832. Sightings of this creature may have been confused with Bigfoot, but the question is, "Is there more of him?" Since he has been seen for so many years he must be able to live very long or there would be more like him around.
Does he migrate?
The Abominable Snowman either migrates or different ones live in different places. The most common place to be known as "Home of Yeti" is the Himalayas. Yet, people have claimed to see him in Japan, Nepal , and even the United States.
So what can we really say about the Himalayan Beast?
The Abominable Snowman will always be know as an unidentified creature, part man, part ape. A monstrous animal that walks the Himalayas. He has walked the snow and ice for many years and has even come to be known in horror movie flicks. (see old movie advertisement) People will always be searching the great mystery of The Abominable Snowman.
