The lightnings
About the lightnings
Lightnings
are formed by the electronic charges in the clouds. One part of the clouds get
positive charge and the others get negative. This process is not understood yet,
but the bottom of the lands becomes of negative charge, while the top becomes
positive.
The spherelightning
This
phenomenon is known from the Middle Ages. Scientists have been trying to find
the solution of the formation for 150 years, but so far there have been just
guesses. According to J.Abrahamson and J.Diniss this phenomenon is just like a
burning silicon sphere / it looks like a candy floss/ that is formed when the
lightning blasts into the Earth. Due to the effect of huge current strenght and
the forming heat the matter of the silicon of the Earth decomposes, and silicon
ions make a thin ball shape. The spherelightning has white or yellow light and
it is hot lighter than a 100 watt lighter. Its size is between a golf and a
soccer ball. According to withnesses it can be seen for 15 seconds. The
luminence, the life-span and the termination of the phenomenon depend on the
content of heat.
