Where do tornadoes occur?

Basically, tornadoes can occur anywhere as long as the conditions for one to from have been met.

Above is a map of the United States, the place most commonly known for its tornadoes, showing the main places where tornadoes occur in red.

Tornadoes can take place anywhere, but the majority occur in the middle of the United States. Cold and warm fronts meet each other, coming from the mountains, deserts, and Caribbean Sea. "Tornado Alley" is the area in which most tornadoes hit, which include the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kansas, and Illinois! The spring season is a very popular time for tornadoes to happen!

The majority of tornadoes occur in agricultural areas. Tornadoes need moisture to feed their parent thunderstorms and the instability associated with spring and summer warming. Crops need moisture to grow and the temperature variation associated with changing seasons. Both conditions for tornadoes and agricultural growth are found in the same areas, as is shown on this map.

Above is a map showing the tornado distribution throughout the world. Do notice that the majority of the tornadoes occur in the United States, Europe and South East Asia.
