Your Role
Amid the discussions, disagreements, debates, and indecisiveness of the world community, you may well ask, “how can I help answer the questions about globalisation?” No matter where you are in the world, there is much you can do to change the tides of the future as you consider appropriate.

The most obvious approach is to form a group of people who share your views and contact the appropriate government officials from your country. Particularly in cultures with representative government, national leaders are highly interested in responding to the interests among the majority of their people. Your view needs a voice, and as every person has the capacity to promote change, you can be the one behind that critical display of enthusiasm.

On more subtle levels, it is important to remain informed about new developments in globalisation. Given the current state of evolution of this socioeconomic mechanism, much can occur to affect its path in a very short amount of time. But if you are well aware about what changes are occurring and how these changes can influence yourself, your nation, and your world world, then you are better suited for making even small decision that can impact the larger spread of globalisation. Your buying patterns, for instance, can influence the lifespan of globalisation given that the degree of a proposition’s success has extraordinary relevance in terms of how its future is considered. Therefore, get as much information as you can about how your lifestyle is influenced by globalisation. If you support the concept, continue to follow the model; and if you dislike the approach, act accordingly.

InterEcon has been developed for this leading reason; it is our belief that if a global society is better informed about how globalisation works and what it means for the future that the world’s people can collectively influence what results. True, not every nation has the same political environment, and thus some citizens may feel unable to openly display their views; still further, others may feel overwhelmed by the seemingly large size of society and the government around it and thus feel overwhelmed when trying to make a position heard. Nonetheless, it is essential for people to advocate what they feel is proper and just; thus no matter what the environment may be, an individual should do as much as possible in loyalty of their view.

But no matter what degree of influence you believe you are able to exert, we --- the team of InterEcon --- want to know exactly what you think about the prospect of truly global economy. May this be your first step --- or maybe even another step in a trail of footprints --- that encourages you to think inquisitively about what is happening between nations even at this very moment and how that can be changed as society seeks to decide what is best. Hence we pose our ultimate question to you: what is your view of globalisation and the future of society?
