There are many other diseases that farmers and people who eat cattle need to know. One example is the outbreak of foot and mouth disease. The disease started in Great Britain. Since it is very contagious, it started spreading really fast. Because today it is easy to get from one part of the world to the other, many countries started to disinfect anyone coming from Great Britain. Fore example, when they got off the planes they made them step on the mats with disinfectant. This is because Foot and Mouth disease spreads so easily. A person who took a walk on the farm with infected cows, can carry virus on their shoes and spread it everywhere he goes.
Cattle diseases cost farmers a lot of money. Unfortunately, many times herds of cows have to be destroyed.
