| Introduction to SARS |
Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) is a newly discovered epidemic in Eastern Asia. The first outbreak occurred in February of 2003. Because of commerce and international travelers, the disease soon spread to more than two dozen nations around the world. Although its symptoms closely resemble flu, SARS can be more dangerous and lethal. As it is a new epidemic, researchers are working to find its cure.
