Kyung-Min, Jeong-O, Seong-hoon, Rithirong and Wensi are junior and senior students from West Springfield High School located in Springfield, Virginia. It is not a coincidence that we have met and worked together for this project, for we are in the same technology club, sponsored by two West Springfield High School teachers. Another team member, Jae is a friend of Jeong-O from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, which is located in Alexandria, Virginia. He, along with other members, likes to create programs and websites.
Even though five of our members are in the same school, we could hardly meet on a regular basis because of intensive school courses and independent studies. Jae had to communicate with members using e-mails and instant messengers.
Most of the members in the team are new to the works of web design and have had great difficulties organizing graphics and links. Jae and Jeong-O have done most of the designing such as page structure and picture formation. Other members gathered information from various sources, such as internet, science institutes, and published journals.

Junior at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology

I, along with Jeong-O, was responsible for creating and designing the website. I like to make programs using C++, Perl, and PHP. I am a member of National Honor Society, varsity math team, and student government association. My favorite subjects include analytical chemistry, mathematics, and computer science.

Together with Jae, I took part in designing the web pages and doing research on different diseases. I am currently a member of technology club, key club, and Koinonia(Korean Christian Club). I enjoy programming in JAVA and creating web pages using HTML, PHP, and mySQL. I also like to play guitar and compose short pieces during free time. I felt that it was really a good experience collaborating with others to make a grand website.

When I heard that Jeong-O was planning to join this competition next year, I talked to Wensi, the president of Tech. Club, and decided to join this competition. Though we only had mere two months to make a website beginning from scratch, most of the members carried great personal responsibility, and helped me to finish my part also. I am currently a member of NHS, MHS, Key club, Senior math team and technology club.

Months ago I joined the technology club, which I thought was interesting because I love to learn about technology. After we heard about the ThinkQuest contest from our sponsors, we decided to join the contest. I was responsible for researching malaria. Furthermore because I was born in Thailand, I was familiar with the topic. I believe this webpage will benefit others who want to study about major diseases.

I am also involved in activities and clubs like Rocket Team, Science Olympia and is the president of the Technology Club. My favorite subjects are chemistry, mathematics and biology. This website is generally done by the members of the Technology Club, with the exception of Jae.
