Treatment of Creutzfeldt-Jackob disease

Currently there is no treatment for Creutzfeldt-Jackob disease. Patients infected with the disease may not recover from the disease indefinately. Current available treatments are used solely to alleivate pain and to make the patients as comfortable as possible. Opiate, clonazepam, and sodium valporate are used to stop involuntary muscle jerks and to sooth the patients.
