Jupiter is the fifth planet from the Sun and by far the largest. Jupiter is more then twice the mass of all the other planets combined! Jupiter is also the fourth brightest object in the sky behind the Sun, the Moon, Venus and sometimes Mars. Jupiter is a member of the gas planets, which are all mostly made up of different gases. Jupiter is made up of 90% hydrogen and 10% helium. Jupiter has a core of rocky material, which is the mass of 10 to 15 Earths. Observers have seen the Great Red Spot from Earth for more than 300 years. Jupiter has a huge magnetic field, much stronger than Earth's. Jupiter has 61 known satellites.
