Earth is the third planet from the Sun and the fifth largest. The Earth is the densest planet in the solar system and it is a member of the terrestrial planets. The Earth’s surface is very young. Earth has only been around for 4.5 to 4.6 billion years old which is considerably young for a planet. 71 Percent of the Earth's surface is covered with water and Earth is the only planet that water can exist in liquid form. The Earth's atmosphere is 77% nitrogen, 21% oxygen, with a little bit of argon, carbon dioxide and water. Earth has a moderate magnetic field which is produced by electric currents in its outer core. Earth has only one natural satellite, the Moon.
