Tyr
Tyr was the god of war.
His father was Odin. His day of the week is Tuesday - his Saxon name
was Tiu.
Here is a popular myth on Tyr.
The wolf Fenrir was one of the many children
of
Loki. Fenrir lived in Asgard, the home of the gods. Fenrir grew
so big and mean that everyone but Tyr was afraid to feed him.
The gods decided to chain Fenrir.
The dwarves made a chain that was unbreakable. Fenrir
got suspicious and refused to let anyone come near him unless Tyr stuck
his hand in Fenrir's mouth. When the
gods tied Fenrir up he became angry and
Tyr lost his hand.
