Odin
Odin was called the "cunning
god" and was the father of three sons - Thor, Tyr, and
Balder. He was the chief and father of all the gods. Odin
had a horse and two ravens. The horse, Sleipnir, could travel on
land and water, and had eight legs. The ravens brought news from
distant places.
Ymir, who's
body was made into Middle Earth, is the creation
giant and gave birth to Odin.
Odin's day of the week is Wednesday, and his Saxon
name is Woden. Odin was extremely wise because he drank from the
spring of Mimir. He had three wives, they were Fjorgyn, Frigg,
and Rhind. Odin was a god of four things, he was a sky god, a god
of wisdom, war, and death. Many gods called him the "All Father".
Odin had a spear of ash called Gungnir and a
magnificent ring named Draupnir. With these two items Odin ruled
Asgard, (the home of the gods). The spear represented
worship. Odin had two wolves which sat at his feet, while Odin
sat on
his throne, Hlidskialf. The names of the wolves were Geriand and Freki.
