He was the god of sun and rain and also a god of peace.  He was a courageous warrior and king of the elves.  Frey was more handsome than any other god.
       Frey married a giantess named Gerd, his father was Njord, and his sister was Freya.    
       Frey was a member of Vanir.  He was called "God of the World" and Lord of the Aesir.  Frey had a chariot pulled by a gold boar.
       He was the owner of the ship Skidbladnir.  Also Frey owned a sword that fought on its own.  Frey was killed by the fire giant, Surt, because he didn't have his weapon since it was given to a servant, Skirnir, as a reward for finding a wife for Frey.
