What is a constellation? People have looked up into the sky and traced out shapes, letters, and other recognizable figures. People have given names to these groups of stars they observed. These groups of stats are called constellations. Most of the names of the constellations have come from the Romans or the Ancient Greeks. A constellation is an area in the sky that makes a picture.
