Beginning:

The writing of mythology is as old as the Wei and Jin Dynasties (220-420). Then writers were influenced by ideas and superstitions of Buddhists and Taoists. These included tales of ghosts. The writing continued over time up to modern day.  Some current myths are based on these tales and they have sprung others.
