Atlantis

You probably already heard the legend of Atlantis. This was said to be the most advanced civilization during its time. This was how a philosopher, Plato, described it even though he had never saw it.He passed on things told to him over time by those who visited Atlantis or heard stories of it.Atlantis had been destroyed prior to Plato's birth.
But before total destruction of Atlantis it was part of a continent separated only by small bodies of water. This continent was said to be larger than the state of Arizona, but smaller that the state of California. This civilization was already at the time at the same level of intelligence as the Egyptians and the Romans—and if you think about, that’s pretty amazing! What is also amazing is that the population of this extinct land was 50,000 to 60,000. But all those people were killed after the destruction of Atlantis. The destruction caused the whole continent to sink into the bottom of the ocean. Still researchers today try to find more evidence and maybe some of their findings could help us solve this ancient mystery.
