Our Team Our team is made up of four 6th grade and two 5th grade students from He'eia Elementary School in Kaneohe, Hawaii. We are not in the same classes, so we met in the computer lab after school. We came on Tuesdays and Thursdays, except at the end, we came almost every day. We wanted to do this project because we all like doing things on computers. We never made a web site before, and we wanted to see if we could do it. We really liked making animated graphics on the computer. We chose Space Travel for our topic because Katie has been to Space Camp and likes space a lot. We wanted to do our web site about what would happen when aliens visited Earth because we all wanted to know about that. We wanted to know what we should do, so we wanted to know what would happen if they really did get here First, we thought about different topics. Then we decided on Space Travel, then on UFOs. Then, we thought about something different, like when aliens land on Earth, for our topic. Then, we made a storyboard. Then we chose which parts we wanted to work on. Then we did research on the Internet and in books, and made the web pages. The page I
worked on mostly was the one about Space Travel. I
got my information from the Internet, from the NASA
web site. I worked with Tyler to make the glossary,
and I also worked with Daniel to make the games. I
also made some of the animated pictures. I helped
find out about aliens and UFOs on the Internet. I
made some of the animated titles for the pages. I
wrote about some of the history of UFOs and looked
for pictures on the Internet. I helped check the
links when we were done. I helped make the text
only version. I'm
interested in science, so I chose the page about
Aliens From Earth to research and make. I also like
making animated graphics, so I did a lot of the
animated pictures, like the spaceships blasting the
city and the alien eating soup. I had fun making
games with Bryson for our UFO Game Room.
I helped
plan our topic because I like learning about space.
I really like drawing on the computer, so I did a
lot of the pictures, like Blast Off, and the Solar
System picture. I also researched and wrote about
our Solar System and made that page. I worked on
the language translation. I chose the
Why Would Aliens Visit? page because I've always
wanted to know about that. I think they would be
peaceful. I made the peace sign picture for that
page, and some of the other pictures. I helped with
the Spanish language version. I helped a
lot with making the animated pictures for the
pages, like the alien that has some cookies., and
the spaceship that beams up the buildings. They
took a long time to do, but were fun to make. I
also did the glossary and helped with the text only
version. |
