The Ellenville D&H Canal
This is the D&H canal in historic Ellenville. As you can see, there is a barge on the side of the screen. It is pulled over and is probably being loaded with coal. There is a lock behind the barge, so it might be just tied to the stone poles that are at the end of the locks. You can see that the canal is just about fifteen feet wide. On the side canal you can see the mules tow path. That is what this picture is about.
