Robin Hood
An arrow whistles through the air. It hits a buck. He falls to the ground. Venison for supper tonight! The man known as Robin Hood walks through the forest into the clearing to claim his kill.
Robin Hood is a common archetype. He is a trickster, pushed outside the boundaries of the law by an unfair government. He helps the poor and harms the rich. He has become a hero, a liberator. But that is not the real Robin Hood.
There are many Robin Hoods across the planet, one in almost every culture; Jesse James for the U.S. , and William Wallace for Scotland . However, these men's lives have been much romanticized. What do people do when they are faced with unjust governments? People will always rebel against legal violence, but they do not have to do it in a violent way. Take Mahatma Gandhi, Mandela, Martin Luther King Jr. They all lead successful rebellions without inciting violence, proving that violence is not necessary to combat violence.
Who is Robin Hood? Where did he live? How did he live? If you wish to know the real story, enter.
