A Borderless World was created by Team Aragon, a team of 5 students in the United States: Ben, Namit, YiDing, Ritesh, and Sam with passion to promote the importance of trade to diverse youth like themselves. The members of Team Aragon are from around the world: YiDing was born in Manchuria, China; Ritesh was born in India. While Sam, Ben, and Namit were all born in the United States, Sam is Korean and Namit is Indian. Hence, within our team is a great cultural diversity that we wish to share with the world. Just take a look at our opening page a few times, and you'll get the idea!

Each teammember had met eachother by sophmore year of high school, mainly through the International Baccalaureate program at Cypress Creek High School. Two members, YiDing and Sam, had gone to the same middle school and had met in eighth grade.  Currently, Ben, Sam, and Ritesh continue to study in Florida, while YiDing and Namit now attend different schools in Boston.

This site was a tremendous team effort to envision and create. We, Team Aragon, felt that we needed to create a site that teached an idea underemphasized at schools, but was critically important to youth and the world. After going through the categories of this year's ThinkQuest competition many times, we finally decided that we'd like to show the world a fascinating phenomen known as the world economy. By teaching about trade and the world economy, we can not only teach, but also show people like ourselves how the world can be made into a better place for children, parents, and the elderly around the globe.

Each member shared his/her input in our site concept. It was truly a team collaboration. After the main idea, and functionality of the site was decided upon, each member volunteered a job. YiDing worked created the layout of the site, wrote the introductions to the entries in the Encyclopedia of World Economies, wrote the content for all non-Encyclopedia sections, and put the site together. Ritesh worked on all Flash projects, and researched and compiled the "Did you know?" and geography content for the Encyclopedia. Ben volunteered to focus on the history aspect of the Enclopedia, and also helped with image organization and editing. Sam took the reigns for the "Future and Beyond" Encyclopedia content. He also helped with editing, the "Did you know?" sections, and image scanning. Finally, Namit was in charge of javascript around the site, as well as the political entries in the Encyclopedia.

Since most of the members of the team currently go to different schools in the United States, meeting as a team was often difficult for us. We met a few times in Fall 2003, and then serveral times over AOL Instant Messenger chat rooms.  However, the main mode of communication is a forum Ritesh created where we posted about our progress, our ideas, and our opinions.

As our coach, Mr. Jones provided direction, supervision, reminders and motivation.  We all have a tendency to procrastinate, but Mr. Jones would constantly remind us to get the work done on schedule so that the pressure of creating the site would be spread out over time and not concentrated on one point.  Mr. Jones did let us come up with our own ideas, however, commenting on certain things, but mostly letting us create our own vision of what the site should be.  When we would get stuck at certain points, Mr. Jones would be there to give us the nudge we needed to get back up to speed, helping us to see different angles on an issue and different ways to solve problems.  Overall, our coach was a great asset to the team in that he provided the thrust we needed to continue to produce quality, insightful, and educational material for our site.
