Blizards are hazardous freezing windstorms that can reach over 35 miles per hour. The worst kind of blizzard is called a severe blizzard .The winds of a severe blizzard travel over 45 miles per hour. You can barely see in a severe blizzard.        The most common place for a blizzards to occur is the northern Great Plains, the Prarie provinces of Canada, the upper Mississippi Valley, and the eastern Arctic. Blizzards don't usually occur where a mountain cuts down the amount of wind. Blizzards are dangerous and take my word for it you would hate to be stuck in the middle of one.
