Troy

Troy was a mythological city where the Trojan War took place.  It would have been located on the coast of what is now Turkey.  The Trojan War came about in a way that is very peculiar.  Paris, the Trojan prince, judged a contest for Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite.  They all offered bribes, and Paris liked Aphrodite's the most so she won the contest.  Her bribe was the love of the most beautiful woman on the earth, Helen, who just happened to be married to King Menelaus.
Helen was bewitched so that she fell in love with Paris, and after he carried her off, her husband and her brother sent out armies to bring her back.
