Chapter
One - Apollo
Apollo was the god of prophecy, music, and
healing. As for his personality, he
really liked to get involved in other people’s business.
He was in that group of people who loved to
pry, pole, meddle, interfere, and get involved. Are
there any more ways to say that he wasn’t satisfied with his
own bees-wax? He was a many sided
person though, considering that he also played the lyre.
Him being the god of music and all, that
shouldn’t really surprise you. Not only
did he play musical instruments, but he invented them too.
The instrument that he invented is called
the lute. Apollo competed in many
musical contests including one in which he beat Pan. Pan was even playing his own instrument which is
called
the
shepherd’s pipe. Surprisingly, Apollo
was a very skilled warrior. This is
known because he killed Achilles, the best
fighter of Sparta. Whenever someone
suddenly died, people would
say, “He’s been killed by one of Apollo’s arrows.”
After a while, I’m sure that the saying wore out and the
old
folks were the only ones that said it. Kind
of like when your Grandma says, “Well, that’s a fine
kettle of
fish!”
